ZZ’s Sushi Bar Unveils a Fantastical World by Ken Fulk

ZZ’s Sushi Bar makes a striking debut within the ever-stylish Miami Design District—an immersive dining destination and members’ club where design, atmosphere, and gastronomy converge in effortless harmony.

From the moment guests arrive, the ground floor captivates with a vibrant, high-gloss aesthetic. A bold teal palette sets the tone, contrasted by sculptural bentwood banquettes and richly layered design details. A blue-green cheetah-print carpet flows through the space, while vintage shellfish-inspired dining chairs—an elegant nod to the restaurant’s name—sit alongside eclectic, artful décor that feels both playful and refined.

Upstairs, the experience evolves into something more indulgent. The private club level channels the glamour of an ’80s disco fantasy, reimagined through a modern luxury lens. Plush velvet, mirrored accents, and custom banquettes are paired with fringed stools in striking animal prints, creating a setting that is at once nostalgic, intimate, and undeniably electric.

Beyond its captivating interiors, ZZ’s is a true culinary destination. The menu is helmed by acclaimed chefs Masa Ito and Kevin Kim, formerly of New York’s renowned Sushi Zo, bringing a precise and elevated approach to Japanese cuisine.

Guests can expect an exquisite omakase experience featuring some of the world’s most coveted seafood, alongside indulgent creations that push the boundaries of tradition. Signature highlights include Wagyu katsu sandos layered with truffle, caviar temaki, and inventive classics such as toast topped with trout roe and honey, as well as delicate carpaccio of tuna, foie gras, uni, and scallop.

For a final note of distinction, exclusive dishes like handmade lobster dumplings and stone crab sunomono further elevate the offering—delivering a dining experience that is as artful as it is unforgettable.
